Policies & Safety Rules

The Mission of ACE (Adventurous Career Exploration) is to provide middle and high school students, with accessible and engaging tools to explore which career path is right for their future. ACE empowers youth through immersive career exploration, providing hands-on experiences that ignite passion, broaden horizons, and build confidence for the future. By connecting young minds to real world professions, we aim to inspire purpose, unlock potential, and shape a generation prepared to lead, create, earn, and thrive.

In order to accomplish this mission, we will maintain and enforce a healthy, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone. We will enforce these policies and safety rules on the premises, to include the parking lots, and respectfully enlist your assistance in assuring compliance by everyone.

CONDUCT

Adults set the standard. We follow the Golden Rule and expect others to adhere to it as well – to treat others the way we want to be treated – and that is with the utmost dignity, respect, politeness, and consideration.

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.

When not in a scheduled activity, children 13 and older must travel in pairs or with an adult. For example, if your 14 year old needs to leave an activity to go to the bathroom, the instructor will assign someone to accompany them there and back.

Adults without children they are supervising are not allowed on the premises, except for pickup and drop off (see below), and for special events such as open houses.

Every visitor to ACE will be checked in (by scanned badge or sign in) through the front desk off the main entrance on MLK. No one may proceed beyond that point unless and until they have been checked in. We are required to monitor building and room capacity.

If you see someone of any age, who is not a badged ACE team member, roaming the hallways by themselves, please immediately notify an ACE team member (who are readily identifiable by a visible pictured ACE name badge).

The safety of all children is everyone’s responsibility. If you see somethingunsafe, please stop it and report it.

No obscene or profane language.

Do not touch, scold, or discipline a child from another family.

No weapons of any kind are permitted on the premises or in parking lots.

OPEN OR CONCEALED WEAPONS CARRY IS PROHIBITED.

No prescription or illegal drugs or alcohol is allowed on the premises.

No vaping, smoking, or use of tobacco products of any kind is allowed on the premises.

Please do not come on the premises if you have experienced a fever, cough, vomiting, or diarrhea within 24 hours. We will gladly re-schedule your visit or issue a refund.

Do not interfere with team members in the performance of their duties. If you have a problem, raise it with management. Please do not attempt to correct or interrupt instructors during periods of instruction.

Please treat ACE equipment kindly. We expect ordinary wear and tear. If anything is intentionally broken, you will be expected to pay for it. If you do not know how something works, please ask for assistance.

CARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN

ACE is not a babysitting or childcare service. If you have a child over 13 in an activity by themselves, please make sure they know your cell phone number by heart, and pick them up when it is over. If you are late, we will charge a dollar a minute. If you are more than 30 minutes late, we will notify the police and provide your contact information.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Backpacks and Bags are not permitted in the building. Upon entry there are self locking storage lockers nearby, which we encourage visitors to utilize.

Strollers are not permitted.

No outside food or drink. ACE has numerous water fountains and water bottle refill stations, so we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle. Please do not bring peanuts or peanut products of any kind into the facility.

ACE is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to your personal property and belongings.

ACCESSIBILITY

ACE is wheelchair accessible via the MLK main entrance. The second floor is accessible via an elevator. We ask folks who are physically able to please use the two stairways. We ask everyone to help prevent children from playing with or on the elevator. It is a very expensive mobility aid for our handicapped guests. Maintenance and repairs are not quickly obtainable due to our location. There are also handicapped restrooms available through the facility.

SAFETY

All ACE personnel are trained in basic first aid. Basic first aid supplies, an automatic external defibrillator (AED), and a life safety vac are present. If you see a health need or injury, please immediately notify ACE personnel.

Because there will be indoor welding activities at times, if anyone needs to bring a portable oxygen container into the building, please notify us well ahead of time.

Although there are fire extinguishers on the premises, in the event of a fire, please immediately depart the building through the nearest external door and do not try to fight a fire. The building has an automatic fire suppression system.

If we must close ACE for severe weather, such will be announced on the Facebook page. Refunds will not be provided, but you will be re-scheduled for a future date you can attend

PHOTO AND FILM POLICY

Everyone who is anywhere on ACE premises is filmed by security cameras, to include inside the elevator and in parking lots. They are for safety and can not be turned off.

By entering the facility, you agree, on your behalf and on behalf of your children, that ACE staff or authorized representatives may observe, take pictures, and record video of all guests throughout ACE’s public spaces, in order to develop our design and for marketing purposes. We may use the photos or videos for any legal purpose without compensation.

RIGHT TO EXCLUDE

ACE reserves the right to ask anyone who violates these policies and rules to leavethe premises. Repeat violators may be permanently barred from entering the premises.

ACE reserves the right to refuse service and/or access and to revoke a license to use the premises or a membership to any individuals for any reason, including a violation of these polices and rules and/or those who are disrespectful of ACE’s guests, staff, exhibits, or property.
